Rooney & Bye is a multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy that has operated since 1955 in the design of civil, structural, hydraulic engineering and building maintenance.

The company has expertise ranging from large structural buildings, such as grandstands and car parks, to residential projects.  Many of the major grandstands in Sydney, such as the Brewongle and Clive Churchill Grandstands at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and the J. R. Fleming Stand at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, were designed by Rooney & Bye.

The form of construction has an impact on the cost and speed of construction.  To meet these needs, our designs have incorporated traditional reinforced concrete structures, large span post-tensioned floor systems, major precast building elements, structural spaceframes and fabric structures .

Philip has been a Director of Rooney & Bye since 1980, with experience in Civil and Structural projects, such as Roads, Racecourses, Schools, Remedial Building Works and Pre-Construction Condition Surveys.
